About Us:

ElevateU LLC is a small business based in Corona del Mar, California that creates technologies to solve physical and mental health-related problems and to provide tools to improve health and wellness. ElevateU staff consult for various companies as well as research and build new technologies.

Some of the products we have built:

Moshemu:

Moshemu is an online research study recruitment platform. Moshemu was funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse in 2019 and was created by a team of researchers, doctors, and social workers who care deeply about helping those who use substances. The Moshemu staff work with research scientists at major universities like UCLA, UC Irvine, Brown University, and Columbia University to find interested participants to join research studies.

HealthCheckins:

Healthcheckins is a peer support community and clinical counseling portal that helps chronic pain patients reduce their risk of opioid misuse. As patients freely discuss their symptoms, challenges and everyday life with trained peer leaders, Healthcheckins' artificial intelligence identifies users at higher risk for opioid addiction/overdose. These algorithms are based on our team's peer reviewed clinical studies where social media behavior predicted heroin use and other health outcomes.

OUR SOLUTIONS

Moshemu is an online research study recruitment platform. Moshemu was funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse in 2019 and was created by a team of researchers, doctors, and social workers who care deeply about helping those who use substances. The Moshemu staff work with research scientists at major universities like UCLA, UC Irvine, Brown University, and Columbia University to find interested participants to join research studies.

Conducting research studies and finding the right participants can take a lot of time and money. Moshemu was created to speed up that matching process. One way to help substance users live better lives is to conduct research on ways to help them improve their health and mental health, this only happens through research. For people who join studies AKA “Participants,” joining a study can be a great way to make money and receive free services like healthcare, counseling, and medications. Keep in mind that not all studies offer the same free services or incentives. We use the information that Moshemu collects to help match you up with potential studies you can join and be paid to participate in.

Moshemu will never sell your information or give your information to any third parties or to law enforcement. In fact, the National Institute of Health studies on Moshemu have been approved by academic ethical review boards (IRB’s). These studies provide a “Certificate of Confidentiality,” meaning that the federal government has assured that we do not need to provide data to anyone ever, and can keep it secure and confidential.

Meet the Team

  • Renee Garett

    FOUNDER AND CEO

Renee is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Southern California. Renee started her career in social work as a social work trainee at a homeless shelter on Skid Row where she worked as a counselor for heroin and cocaine users. For the past 11 years, Renee has worked in many different settings (non-profits, community mental health settings, universities, and in her own private practice). She realized more needed to be done to help solve health and mental health problems from a macro level in addition to on an individual level. Renee became interested in utilizing technologies to help improve patient health and wellness.

As CEO of ElevateU, Renee creates technologies and interventions to support emotional and physical health and emotional wellbeing. ElevateU projects have been funded by several NIH grants. We provide consulting services to companies, non-profits, and universities. We launched MOSHEMU.com, an online recruitment platform for research studies. We also created HealthCheckIns, a social media platform to help opioid users adhere to their pain management regimes and manage their mental health symptoms.
